Entry-Level/ Assessment Introductory
Survey: Knowledge of Soccer on survey monkey. Click here for quick access of survey.
Brief Discussion/activity: What are the skills of soccer? Students will get in groups of 3-4 for about 2-3 minutes answering the question. Furthermore, as a group, students will actively demonstrate the question by demonstrating the skills of soccer to the class.
Formative Assessments/ Progression
Kwl guide- Students will be given a kwl guide. The kwl guide will ask questions regarding Soccer. The kwl model consists of questions to be answered for prior instruction, during instruction, and after instruction.
Quiz- Students will take a quiz on the skills and history of soccer. The quiz will be comprised of multiple choice questions, fill-in, and matching.
Dynamic Group activity- Students will get in to groups of 3-5 and will properly identify, collaborate, and demonstrate the skills of soccer. Afterwards, students will have the option of choosing modified games of soccer based on their skill level- beginner, intermediate, and advance.
Final Assessments
Assessing Students- Students will get into groups of 3-5. Students will have the opportunity to assess each student on several skills of soccer. This activity will give students the opportunity work and practice the skills they need to work on before they are fully assessed by the instructor. I have provided the rubrics below, so you can assess your fellow students. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the assignment, feel free to ask me.
Final Exam- The final exam will have a written section and a dynamic assessment section. The written section will be comprised of short- answer questions and multiple choice questions. The final assessment section, students will be tested on the skills of soccer. The instructor will use a rubric to assess each student while they are demonstrating the skills.
